I recognize the strengths and resources of individuals at all levels and work to meet you at your level and improve your life. I collaborate with you in a therapeutic relationship to bring about meaningful change in your life, career, or wherever you need the change to occur. I have spent more than eleven years working in law enforcement improving public safety by helping a variety of populations manage stress, depression, substance abuse and numerous mental health disorders. In my role as a Clinical Psychologist, I am both a clinician and a consultant, as my duties go beyond providing individual and group therapy/treatment. I utilize my skills to prevent self-harm and suicide, help patients with intellectual disabilities and conduct mental health evaluations. Additionally, I strive to create a safe environment and I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual, and I have been trained in a range of modalities including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Substance Abuse Counseling, Motivational Interviewing, Psycho-Education, Trauma Focused Therapy, Crisis Management and Intervention. I utilize a blend of these modalities to provide treatment to individuals aged 13 and up. My educational background includes a B.A. in Psychology from the College of St. Catherine, in St. Paul, Minnesota; an MA in Counseling Psychology from University of St. Thomas (Minneapolis, Minnesota) and a Doctorate in Counseling and Clinical Psychology from University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
