Golda Akiwumi, CPRS, QMHP-A-C, MA
My name is Golda Akiwumi, and I was born in West Africa, Ghana to be exact. I speak Ga fluently. I have been in the counseling
field, working with clients and providing therapy & other services, since 2018. I am able to assist with many different mental health conditions including: ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Anger Management, Trauma, ODD, OCD, Substance Abuse, and Phobias, and more. In addition to individual counseling, I also offer couples and family counseling as well.
A little about me:
I'm a graduate of Virginia State University & Bowie State University. I am a gym rat; I often find myself working out 5 to 6 times a week, and I love basketball. I also love dogs and being around them, whether it's my own or a furry friend that belongs to a family member. I would describe my personality as introverted with extroverted tendencies.
I am passionate about assisting my clients in meeting their therapeutic goals. I use a variety of techniques, including CBT, art therapy, compassion, strengths-based approach, and more. I have served populations that range from children to adults and am currently seeing patients aged seven and up. I bring an open-minded, new age perspective to challenges and how to overcome them. I strive to create a comfortable, safe environment for my clients as we work together.
I look forward to working with you!
Golda works out of the Vienna office.
