Therapist
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with teens ages 14+, young adults, and adults, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. I frequently help clients navigate anxiety, depression, alcohol and drug use, relationship and family concerns, life transitions, and the lasting impact of difficult experiences.
I’ve always been passionate about helping people feel heard and supported. Outside of sessions, you’ll often find me reading, baking, or spending time near the ocean.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe therapy can look different from one session to the next because what you need may change from week to week. My approach combines listening, thoughtful feedback, alternative perspectives, occasional homework, and exploring both past and present experiences. Sometimes therapy calls for deeper reflection and being challenged, while other sessions may involve laughing, decompressing, and simply having room to process what’s happening in your life.
My goal is to help you better understand yourself while finding practical ways to move forward.
What to Expect When Working With Me
You may be considering therapy because your thoughts and emotions feel difficult to understand, your self-talk has become increasingly critical, your mind feels like it’s constantly spinning, or you want to develop routines that better support your mental health. You don't have to know exactly what's wrong or what needs to change before reaching out.
During our first appointment, I’ll ask questions about both your past and present so I can better understand your experiences and what has brought you to therapy.
I'll help you look at thought patterns, self-talk, those difficult emotions, and habits that keep you stuck. Together we'll make a plan for goals and explore what progress will look like.
I look forward to meeting you.
Frequently Asked Questions
What concerns do you commonly help clients with?
I frequently work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, alcohol or drug use concerns, relationship and family difficulties, life transitions, and the impact of previous difficult experiences. I work individually with teens ages 14+, young adults, and adults, including LGBTQ+ clients.
What is therapy with you like?
Therapy with me is flexible and responsive to what you need that day. Sessions may include talking through what you're experiencing, exploring patterns from the past and present, considering different perspectives, identifying practical next steps, or occasionally using homework between sessions. There is also room for humor and decompressing when that's what you need.
What if I know something feels wrong, but I don't know what needs to change?
That's okay. You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. I enjoy helping clients explore the different experiences and factors contributing to difficult areas of their lives so that, together, we can begin uncovering a path toward progress.
What should I expect at my first therapy appointment?
Our first session will involve questions that help me understand your past, what's happening in your life now, and what you'd like help with. This gives me the context and foundation I need to help you navigate what you're experiencing in the present.
How can therapy help if I’m struggling with negative self-talk or overthinking?
If your mind feels like it’s constantly spinning or you’ve become increasingly critical of yourself, therapy can help you slow things down and better understand what’s behind those thoughts and emotions. Together, we can explore the patterns contributing to how you’re feeling, consider different perspectives, and develop routines and strategies that better support your mental health.
