What to expect when calling to book an appointment…
To book an appointment with a provider at Dr. Goldberg and Associates, please call one of our administrators at (703) 935-0058 or ext. 0 (M-F 8am-9pm). Because we have a large amount of practitioners we will try and get you in as quickly as possible, yet sometimes providers are full and not accepting new patients. However, due to the number of providers we have, we can usually get you seen within less than a week. Occasionally, we have same day appointments so please call to find out next available opening and your schedule.
When you request an appointment you will be asked several questions to find the therapist that is the best fit for you.
Questions like:
- What insurance do you have? (We accept Carefirst BCBS, Anthem and Cigna). We take cash/private pay patients as well. Rates depend on provider (range $175-$275/hr).
- What office location are you interested in being seen at (we have 5 locations, 2 of which are in Alexandria, Vienna, McLean and Reston)?
- What timeframe works best for regular re-occurring appointments, typically 1hr each? (e.g. mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends)
- What issues are you struggling with and need to be seen for (Depression, Anxiety, Relationship, Legal, Immigration)?
After booking an appointment, you will be sent a confirmation email of appointment information including, date, time, and provider. We suggest arriving early to take into account Metro DC traffic and/or filling out paperwork. Attached to your email will also be a copy of our patient intake forms for you to fill out prior to the appointment time (please note, if you are unable to complete paperwork prior to your initial appointment, please come 15 minutes early to do so in office). For appointments Monday-Friday after 6pm and weekend appointments, you will also receive specific instructions in the email on how to access our buildings as they will be locked during these hours. Administrative support is NOT available after 9pm on weekdays or after 4:30pm on weekends, so please dial the provider’s extension if you are unable to enter the building.
Prior to your appointment, please also call your insurance company to confirm benefits for “outpatient mental health provider” (CPT Codes 90791 and 90837). All patients are responsible for any copays or deductibles designated by your insurance plan, or if your insurance denies coverage/payment.
If you have any questions, concerns, or issues, please contact our administrators. They are available Monday through Friday, 8am-9pm. If you are unable to reach anyone, please leave a message and it will be returned as soon as possible.
**Please keep in mind the importance of keeping to your scheduled appointment time. At Dr. Goldberg and Associates, we try to utilize every hour to provide high quality care for each of our patients. By scheduling an appointment, it takes away that slot from other patients and is very costly to the practice when appointments are missed or not cancelled in a timely manner. Our office abides by a stringent cancellation policy listed in our intake policies and should be reviewed.
