Margaret Kajeckas, LCSW
Margaret Kajeckas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from George Mason University in 2020. Margaret has always worked to improve the lives of children and families, first as a Congressional staffer, then by living in Africa for 13 years working on education and child health. Now she uses her skills as a psychotherapist to help children, adolescents and their caregivers live happier, less anxious, and more fulfilling lives. She has experience helping clients with anxiety, depression, family transitions, PTSD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder and attachment issues using play and sand therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, talk therapy, mindfulness and art making. Margaret has a special interest in adoption and is an adoptive mother.
Margaret has completed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) basic training, Theraplay Level 1 training, and is working towards her play therapy and EMDR certifications. She has specialized training in Play Therapy, Trauma-Focused Integrated Play Therapy, Sand Therapy, Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART), and expressive arts.
Margaret believes that change is always possible and is passionate about helping others navigate life's challenges. She practices yoga and mediation and enjoys hiking, biking and paddle boarding.
