Terra received her Masters in Social Work at Boston University, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia and the District of Columbia. Terra works with adults, couples and teens who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma. Her specialties include stress, relationship issues, life transitions and adjustment concerns, domestic violence, sexual abuse, emotional dysregulation, and difficulties with self-esteem.
Terra is passionate about helping her clients navigate life’s challenges and supporting them in creating joyful, connected and meaningful lives. Terra strives to create a safe and authentic space to help her clients heal, discover their strengths and potential, and empower them to achieve the change and growth they are seeking. Terra practices from a place of empathy and compassion, and believes that building a strong relationship based on trust, safety, and connection is paramount to effective therapy.
Terra practices from a strengths based and trauma informed perspective. She utilizes an integrative approach and incorporates Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as mindfulness and somatic techniques in her work. Terra helps her clients identify the thoughts, emotions and behaviors that are causing distress, and supports them in practicing new ways to respond to these difficulties in order to develop healthier behaviors and relationships with others. Terra works with clients collaboratively and tailors therapy to the unique backgrounds and needs of her clients to help them reach their goals.
