Mackenzie Kost, LCSW
Mackenzie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Virginia, dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate
life’s challenges with compassion and clarity. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Old Dominion University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.
With over six years of experience, Mackenzie has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient care, in-home services, and partial hospitalization programs, supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her areas of focus include depression, anxiety, trauma, self esteem, grief, suicidal ideation, substance use, and high-risk psychosis in teens.
Mackenzie takes a personalized, evidence-based approach to therapy, drawing from a range of modalities such as trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mode Deactivation Therapy (MDT), EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and strengths-based practices. She is passionate about creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences, build resilience, and work toward meaningful change.
