About Me

I’m Dr. Linda Iyebote, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with more than a decade of experience helping people navigate emotional distress, trauma, relationships, and major life changes. I earned bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Psychology and a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from George Mason University. My passion for culturally sensitive mental health care also led me to pursue advanced education in International Psychology.

I provide therapy through telehealth, working primarily with young adults and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, life transitions, grief and loss, and relationship concerns.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is compassionate, culturally responsive, and practical. I recognize that your experiences, relationships, culture, values, and goals all influence how you experience the world and what you need from therapy.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I integrate evidence-based strategies with an understanding of who you are as an individual. Together, we can better understand what you’re experiencing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools that support meaningful change.

Who I Work With

Many of my clients reach out because they feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about what comes next.

I work with young adults and adults experiencing concerns such as:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transitions
  • Relationship concerns
  • Postpartum depression
  • Cultural and identity-related concerns
  • Emotional distress, including self-harm or suicidal thoughts

Whether you’re struggling with something that happened in the past, facing a difficult transition, experiencing challenges in your relationships, or simply realizing that the way you’ve been coping isn’t working anymore, therapy can give you an opportunity to understand what is happening and determine what you want to change.

What to Expect During Your First Appointment

Our first appointment is an opportunity to get to know one another. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re currently experiencing, relevant parts of your history and relationships, and what you hope to accomplish.

You’ll also have time to ask questions and get a sense of what working together might be like. From there, we’ll begin identifying goals and developing an approach that fits your individual needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I’m nervous about starting therapy?

You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out before you begin. Our first conversation is simply an opportunity to get to know one another, understand what you’re experiencing, and determine how I can best support you.

How do I know if therapy will actually help me?

Therapy isn’t about having something “wrong” with you. It can help you better understand what you’re experiencing, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools for creating meaningful change.

Do you provide trauma therapy?

Yes. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and have extensive experience working with trauma and PTSD. My approach considers not only symptoms but also your individual experiences, relationships, values, and goals.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. I conduct my therapy sessions through telehealth, allowing clients to participate in sessions virtually from a private location.

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

You should feel comfortable, respected, heard, and able to be yourself in therapy. Our first conversation gives us an opportunity to learn more about what you’re looking for while giving you a chance to decide whether my approach feels like a good fit for you.
