About Me

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with six years of experience working with clients from school age through older adulthood. I frequently help people navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem and self-worth concerns, stress, relationship difficulties, family conflict, and emotional regulation. I especially enjoy working with clients who want to better understand themselves, develop healthier ways of coping, and feel more confident and grounded in their lives.

My own experiences with mental health struggles are part of what first drew me to this work and continue to shape the way I approach therapy. I know how meaningful it can be to feel genuinely heard and understood. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish and certified in Brainspotting, which I incorporate when appropriate to help clients explore and process experiences at a deeper level.

My Approach to Therapy

You may be considering therapy because you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or simply haven’t felt like yourself lately. Maybe you’re overthinking, struggling with self-doubt, having difficulty managing your emotions, experiencing relationship conflict, or trying to navigate a major change. You may also know that something needs to change without being able to explain exactly what that is—and that’s okay.

My approach is warm, conversational, collaborative, and active. I’ll give you room to talk and process your experiences, but I won’t just sit back and listen. I offer thoughtful feedback, gentle directness, and practical strategies when they’re helpful. Together, we’ll look at both past experiences and present-day patterns, identify meaningful goals, and work toward changes that feel realistic for your life. And because therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time, humor and laughter often find their way into our sessions too.

What to Expect When Working With Me

Our first appointment is an opportunity to get to know one another and understand what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask about what you’ve been experiencing, what’s important to you right now, and what you’d like to get out of therapy. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out or know exactly what to say—we can start wherever you are.

Finding the right therapist is personal. I may be a good fit if you’re looking for someone who is warm and approachable while also willing to be active in the conversation and offer honest, thoughtful feedback. Our first few sessions can also give us an opportunity to determine whether my personality and approach feel right for you.

A Little More About Me

Outside of therapy, I enjoy exploring new cafés and bakeries, taking walks outdoors, traveling, painting, and going to concerts. I value authenticity and connection, and I bring those same values into my work with clients.

I look forward to meeting you and supporting you as you work toward greater self-understanding, confidence, and growth.

Frequently Asked Questions

What am I supposed to talk about in therapy?

You don’t need to come in with a perfectly organized list. We can start with whatever feels most important that day, and I’ll help guide the conversation with questions and feedback. Sometimes you may have a specific situation to discuss; other times, we may start with something as simple as, “I don’t know what’s wrong—I just don’t feel like myself.” Both are completely okay.

What concerns do you work with?

I frequently work with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem, stress, relationship and communication concerns, family conflict, and emotional regulation. I also work with clients who want greater self-understanding, stronger coping skills, or support during periods of personal growth and change.

Do you offer therapy in Spanish?

Yes. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and can provide therapy for clients who prefer to communicate in either language.

Do you use Brainspotting?

Yes. I am certified in Brainspotting and incorporate it when appropriate to help clients explore and process experiences at a deeper level. Whether we use Brainspotting depends on your individual needs, comfort, and goals for therapy.

Daniela provides in-person appointments at our Stevenson Alexandria location, as well as telehealth services for clients who prefer to meet virtually.
