About Me
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Forensic Psychology and more than 10 years of experience providing psychological assessment and clinical services. I’m especially passionate about helping people better understand themselves through psychological evaluations, particularly when someone has spent years feeling misunderstood or wondering why certain things seem harder for them than for others. What drew me to this work is my genuine curiosity about people and the stories behind the behaviors, symptoms, and diagnoses we see on paper.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults aged 6 and older. My primary areas of focus include autism evaluations, ADHD evaluations, differential diagnosis, comprehensive psychological assessment, and forensic evaluations. I am particularly interested in working with people who may have gone undiagnosed or misunderstood for years.
My Approach to Psychological Evaluations
My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and person-centered. During an evaluation, I stay actively engaged by asking questions, exploring patterns and connections, and helping clients understand how their developmental history, current functioning, strengths, and challenges fit together. I tend to be conversational while still being structured and purposeful, and I value being direct and honest in a respectful, nonjudgmental way.
My goal is for you to leave the evaluation process feeling heard and with greater clarity about yourself, your concerns, and meaningful next steps.
What to Expect When Working With Me
Many people come to me because something in their life feels difficult, overwhelming, confusing, or simply different from what they want it to be. You may have a specific concern you want to understand, or you may simply know that you haven’t been feeling like yourself. Some people have spent years trying to manage things on their own and feel exhausted, stuck in familiar patterns, or frustrated that strategies that once worked no longer seem to be enough. Others are looking for answers to longstanding concerns and want greater diagnostic clarity.
During your first appointment, we’ll spend time getting to know you and understanding the questions you want the evaluation to address. I’ll ask about your current experiences as well as relevant personal, developmental, educational, medical, family, and social history. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. My role is to guide the process, listen carefully, and help you feel comfortable enough to share what is important.
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of psychological evaluations do you provide?
My primary areas of focus are autism evaluations, ADHD evaluations, differential diagnosis, comprehensive psychological assessments, and forensic evaluations. I work with children, adolescents, and adults aged 6+ and take a whole-person approach that considers developmental history, current functioning, strengths, challenges, and lived experiences.
Do you evaluate adults who think they may have undiagnosed ADHD or autism?
Yes. I have a particular interest in helping people who may have gone undiagnosed or misunderstood for years, including adults who have developed significant strategies for compensating for or masking neurodevelopmental differences. My goal is to understand your experiences in context rather than looking only at symptoms or test scores.
What if I’m nervous about psychological testing?
You don’t have to arrive with everything figured out or have the “right” words to describe what you’re experiencing. Reaching out can feel vulnerable, particularly if you’re worried about being judged or misunderstood. We can start with what you know, and I’ll help guide you through the process at a pace that feels manageable.
Can you be my therapist after my evaluation?
My primary focus at Dr. Goldberg & Associates is psychological evaluations rather than ongoing psychotherapy. I understand why you may want to continue working with a psychologist you feel comfortable with, and the evaluation process can help clarify your needs and inform appropriate next steps for treatment.
How do I know if you’re the right psychologist for me?
We may be a good fit if you’re looking for someone who is warm, empathetic, thoughtful, and willing to ask meaningful questions while providing honest, clear feedback. I want you to feel that your concerns are taken seriously, your individual experiences are respected, and the person working with you is genuinely invested in helping you gain clarity and understanding.
A Little More About Me
As a first-generation Caribbean American, neurodivergent psychologist, and member of the LGBTQ+ community, I bring both professional training and lived experience to how I understand people and their stories. My experiences have reinforced how deeply culture, family, identity, and our environments shape how we understand ourselves and move through the world. I’m especially mindful that people from underrepresented and historically misunderstood communities may not always see their experiences reflected in traditional approaches to mental health.
Outside of psychology, I’m a mom and lifelong learner who values family, personal growth, culture, and creating a life that feels both meaningful and peaceful.
If you’re ready to better understand yourself, make sense of what you’ve been experiencing, or gain clarity around questions that have been on your mind, I would be honored to be part of that process.
Dr. Green provides in-person testing appointments at our McLean office, as well as telehealth services for clients who prefer to meet virtually.
