About Me
Deciding to seek therapy is not always easy, and asking for support does not mean you are unable to handle life’s challenges. People come to therapy for many reasons. Sometimes you may be struggling with a specific concern, and other times you may simply need a trusting place to better understand your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and experiences.
I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma and PTSD, grief, relationship and family concerns, life transitions, stress, panic attacks, self-esteem concerns, substance use, and bipolar disorder. I also welcome people who are looking for greater insight, personal growth, or support navigating a difficult period in their lives.
My Approach to Therapy
I am trained in the diagnosis and treatment of emotional, mental health, and addictive disorders. My approach combines traditional psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and problem-solving strategies to help clients address concerns, reconcile with difficult experiences, and move forward with their lives.
Therapy is individualized to what brings you in. You may be feeling overwhelmed and unsure how to cope, struggling in a relationship, processing grief or trauma, or adjusting to a significant life change. You do not need a specific diagnosis to benefit from therapy—you may simply want support, insight, or an opportunity to grow.
What to Expect When Working With Me
During your first appointment, we’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, review relevant history, answer your questions, and begin identifying your goals. You only need to share what feels comfortable.
If you’re nervous about starting therapy, that’s completely normal. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. Come as you are, and we can take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I also speak Spanish and provide therapy at Dr. Goldberg & Associates’ McLean, Virginia office.
I look forward to helping you meet your goals.
