About Me

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Alexandria, Virginia, and my goal is to help you work toward the goals you want to achieve in life. I earned my master’s degree in Social Work from Catholic University, graduating with honors, and I continue to learn about new research in the field so I can bring that knowledge into my work with clients.

I work with young adults, older adults, couples, parents, LGBTQIA+ clients, professionals, and individuals navigating divorce or major life changes. My areas of experience include anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma, grief, panic attacks, relationship concerns, stress, self-esteem, and life transitions, with a particular focus on anxiety, relationships, goal setting, and concerns before and after divorce.

My Approach to Therapy

I’m down to earth, and I tailor therapy to the individual rather than taking the same approach with everyone. My sessions balance listening with time for feedback. I tend to focus on what is happening in your life right now while also learning about your past and how it may be affecting you today. If setting specific goals is important to you, we can make that an active part of our work together.

Depending on your needs, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, and mindfulness techniques. Ultimately, I believe in change and want to help you work through the obstacles that are keeping you from feeling better and living a life with greater purpose and meaning.

What to Expect When Working with Me

Many of my clients come to me because they feel anxious socializing, struggle with low self-esteem, or are having difficulties in their relationships. Others are at a point where they want to make changes in their lives, set meaningful goals, and have someone help them stay accountable as they work toward them.

Your first appointment is about getting to know you and your background. If you’re nervous about therapy, I’ll work to help you feel more comfortable. I’m very down to earth, and people genuinely feel like they can share their thoughts with me.

Yes. Couples therapy and relationship concerns are among the areas I work with. I also support individuals dealing with relationship challenges and people navigating the changes that can happen before or after a divorce.
