About Me

I’m a licensed therapist working with young adults, adults, couples, and families through both in-person and telehealth therapy. I’m licensed in Virginia and Connecticut and provide individual therapy in English and Spanish. I especially enjoy helping people better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that may be keeping them feeling stuck.

I specialize in couples and relationship concerns, anxiety, ADHD, chronic illness and pain, self-esteem, LGBTQ+ concerns, postpartum adjustment, and sports performance. I also have experience helping clients with behavioral concerns, grief, codependency, sleep difficulties, career concerns, and infidelity concerns when they are secondary to the primary reason for treatment. My couples work includes high-conflict relationships, communication and trust concerns, emotional disconnection, recurring conflict, premarital counseling, new parents, sexual concerns, infidelity, and polyamorous or non-monogamous relationships.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is direct, collaborative, conversational, and intentional. Therapy with me is active, not passive. I’ll support you, but I’ll also help you recognize and interrupt patterns that aren’t working. We’ll generally focus on what is happening in your life now while also exploring how past experiences may be influencing your current thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and relationships. And when appropriate, there’s room for humor, too.

Because every client is different, I draw from a wide range of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the Gottman Method, Gestalt Therapy, psychoanalytic approaches, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotionally-Focused Therapy, and art therapy. I also incorporate behavioral strategies, coaching, and spiritual perspectives when those approaches align with a client’s needs, values, and goals.

What to Expect When Working With Me

Many of my clients come to therapy because they’re dealing with daily anxiety, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, or patterns they don’t fully understand but know they want to change. You might know exactly what you want to work on, or you may simply know that something isn’t working anymore. Either is a good place to begin.

Your first appointment will feel more like a conversation than a structured interview. My goal is for the process to feel calm and manageable, while still providing additional direction when you need it. Talking about yourself can be uncomfortable, and it doesn’t have to be forced. You set the pace.

I work best with clients who are willing to be honest, reflective, and engaged in the process. I’m grounded and supportive, but I’m also direct when I see patterns that may be getting in your way. If you’re ready to better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, or make meaningful changes in your life, I’d be glad to connect.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages and clients do you work with?

I work with young adults, adults, couples, families, parents and caregivers, college students, and perinatal/postpartum clients. I also work with LGBTQ+ clients and people navigating a variety of relationship structures. I provide individual therapy in both English and Spanish.

What concerns do you specialize in?

My work covers a broad range of concerns, but some of my primary areas include relationships and couples therapy, anxiety, ADHD, trauma and PTSD, chronic pain and illness, self-esteem, LGBTQ+ concerns, postpartum adjustment, and sports performance. I also have experience with grief, behavioral concerns, codependency, sleep difficulties, and other concerns.

Do you provide couples therapy?

Yes. I specialize in working with couples experiencing communication problems, trust concerns, emotional disconnection, infidelity, and conflict patterns that keep repeating. I also work with premarital couples, new parents, couples experiencing sexual difficulties, and people in polyamorous or non-monogamous relationships. Couples therapy is provided in English; I do not currently provide couples therapy in Spanish.

What is therapy with you actually like?

My style is conversational, collaborative, and direct. I’m actively engaged in sessions rather than simply sitting back and listening. We’ll focus primarily on what is happening now while also looking at how your past may be influencing current patterns. Depending on your needs, we may use insight-oriented work, practical skills, creative approaches, behavioral strategies, or a combination of methods.

Do you offer therapy in Spanish?

Yes. I provide individual therapy in both English and Spanish. Spanish-language couples therapy is not currently offered.
