About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I currently work primarily with adults and adolescents, including LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and perinatal/postpartum clients. My areas of experience include anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, relationship and family concerns, panic attacks, parenting, self-esteem, life transitions, and self-harm.
While diagnoses can be a convenient way to discuss a cluster of symptoms, they do not give a holistic picture of a person. I take a person-centered approach and want to understand who you are beyond a diagnosis. My goal is not only to help you reduce or cope with difficult symptoms, but to help you build a life that feels joyful, mindful, and connected to others.
I earned my master’s degree in Social Work from Smith College and hold certifications in treating Nonsuicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) and Traumatic Stress.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe the relationship we build in therapy is an important part of creating meaningful change. My interactions with clients are genuine, empathic, and nonjudgmental, and I tailor our sessions and treatment plan to your individual needs.
I balance empathic listening with nonjudgmental questions and feedback, and my sessions often feel like deep conversations with some humor sprinkled in. I enjoy helping clients identify patterns that have kept them stuck and providing specific skills to practice when that seems helpful.
My work is solution-focused, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, drawing from Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic Theory.
What to Expect When Working With Me
Many of my clients come to me because they feel stuck or overwhelmed. Sometimes these difficulties have been going on for a long time, and other times they begin after a new life circumstance. You may recognize that certain thoughts, emotions, or behaviors aren’t serving you anymore but not know where to begin to change things.
Our first appointment is a time for us to get to know one another. I’ll ask questions to begin understanding your history, needs, and goals, while also leaving space for any questions you have for me.
If you’re nervous about beginning therapy, that is completely normal and understandable. The process of change can often feel unknown and uncomfortable, and I am here to guide you through it. Therapy is a collaborative and nonjudgmental process that can move at the pace you need.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who do you work with?
I currently work primarily with adults and adolescents. I am also comfortable working with LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and perinatal/postpartum clients.
What concerns do you specialize in?
The areas where I have the most experience are anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I also have experience treating bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, panic attacks, family conflict, parenting concerns, self-esteem, and self-harm.
What is therapy with you actually like?
My sessions tend to be conversational. I balance empathic listening with nonjudgmental questions and feedback, and there is often some humor sprinkled in. We may identify patterns that have kept you stuck and, when helpful, work on specific skills you can practice outside of therapy.
What if I’m nervous about opening up?
Being nervous about therapy is understandable. Change can feel unknown and uncomfortable, and you don’t have to rush the process. We can work collaboratively and move at the pace you need while building a relationship where you feel increasingly comfortable talking about what brought you to therapy.
How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
It can be difficult to know whether a therapist is the right fit without meeting first. I tend to be a good fit for clients who are drawn to a collaborative and conversational approach that also incorporates evidence-based strategies to help them work toward their goals.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change. I would be honored to help empower you to turn toward change and find understanding, peace, and joy.
