About Me

Life brings changes, and with those changes can come challenges we did not expect. You may be navigating anxiety or depression, grieving a loss, struggling with your self-esteem, adjusting to changes in your family, or facing decisions you never thought you would have to make. I believe that with the right support and guidance, people have the ability to move through difficult seasons and thrive.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with teens ages 14+, adults, couples, and families. My experience spans many areas of social work, including adoption, foster care, elder care, and hospital settings. I especially enjoy helping clients with grief and loss, infertility, adoption, parenting concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship or family challenges.

My Approach to Therapy

For me, therapy begins with developing a trusting, compassionate relationship. I want to understand what you are experiencing, what has brought you to therapy, and what you would like to be different in your life.

My years of professional and life experience help me support clients through both everyday challenges and significant transitions. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, strengths-based approaches, and trauma-informed strategies. For clients who would like their faith to be part of therapy, I can also incorporate Christian counseling.

Our work is personalized to you. We can explore what has contributed to the challenges you are facing while also identifying your strengths, developing practical ways to cope, and working toward meaningful change.

Areas I Can Help With

I work with clients experiencing concerns including:

  • Anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem
  • ADHD and OCD
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Grief and loss
  • Adoption and attachment concerns
  • Infertility and postpartum concerns
  • Parenting and family challenges
  • Life transitions and career concerns
  • Divorce and post-separation adjustment
  • Premarital and relationship concerns
  • Alcohol use and recovery-related concerns
  • Eating and behavioral concerns
  • Phobias
  • Caring for aging parents
  • Multicultural concerns

I also welcome same-sex couples and clients from diverse backgrounds and family structures.

What to Expect When Working With Me

You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. We can start with what is happening in your life right now and work together from there.

I believe you already have strengths that can help you move forward, even when those strengths may be difficult to recognize during a challenging time. My role is to provide support, perspective, and guidance as we identify what is getting in the way and work toward the changes that matter to you.

I welcome the opportunity to meet you, learn more about your story, and support you as you work toward your goals.

Ginny provides therapy at Dr. Goldberg & Associates’ Reston and Vienna, Virginia offices.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of clients do you work with?

I work with teens ages 14+, adults, couples, and families. Clients come to me at many different stages of life, whether they are navigating parenting, relationships, grief, adoption, infertility, career changes, caring for aging parents, or other major transitions.

Can you help with grief and major life changes?

Yes. Grief and life transitions are significant areas of my work. Loss and change can affect your mood, relationships, confidence, and sense of direction. Therapy can give you a place to process what has happened while finding ways to move forward.

Do you work with adoption and infertility concerns?

Yes. My social work experience includes adoption and foster care, and I work with clients navigating adoption, attachment, infertility, parenting, and other family-building concerns. I understand that these experiences can involve many emotions at once and deserve space to be explored without judgment.

Do you offer Christian counseling?

Yes. If your Christian faith is important to you and you would like it incorporated into therapy, we can include your beliefs and values as part of our work together. Faith does not have to be part of therapy if that is not what you are looking for.

Where do you see clients?

Ginny provides in-person appointments at our Reston and Vienna offices, as well as telehealth services for clients who prefer to meet virtually.
